I waited for an ambulance with two street people after church this morning, one of whom was so drunk he couldn’t stand up, and another of whom seemed to be drunk and high. They were so despairing, and without hope. All I could do was try to look them in the eye and say that help was coming. I don’t even know their names – they looked Innu, but I’m not even sure of that. Please pray for them.

And a Very Merry Christmas to all of you!!!!
The government of Ontario is paying for Ottawa’s free crack pipe programme, despite the fact that Ottawa police don’t want it and the city cut funding for it. Also despite the fact that Ottawa is in desperate need of a residential drug treatment programme, which the province, so far, has declined to fund. What’s a better use of taxpayers’ money: funding a programme that enables drug use, or funding a programme that helps people get off drugs? Seems like a no brainer to me.
…found it on Cute Overload.
I don’t agree with some of what Steyn said in the offending article (I think he attaches more blame to so called “big” government than is warranted, especially when it comes to medicare). However, the lawsuit that he and Maclean’s are facing because he dared to voice his opinion is a scandal. Binky has set up a blog in Steyn’s defence, it’s worth a look.
I believe that this wanted poster is the Binkster’s artwork – correct me if I’m wrong, please…
Anybody know where the very last scene in this video is from? I’m curious…
This over at Age to Come is definitely worth a read
Well, this was certainly no surprise to me, since I don’t consider a Christmas tree to be adequately decorated unless it has enough tinsel on it to cover all ornaments…..
You Are a Bright Christmas Tree |
![]() For you, Christmas is all about fun and seasonal favorites. You are into all things Christmas, even if they’re a little tacky. |
I live in Ottawa, and we just had a huge dump of snow. 60 cm (that’s two feet) of snow in one snowfall. I haven’t seen snowbanks this high since I was a kid. Anyway, I have a very small dog. I got him at the pound – I think he’s a spitz. He looks just like the photo of the Finnish Spitz , except that he has long hair and is a bit shorter. Anyway, we have a back deck. The level of snow in the back yard is just about at the height of the back deck. My small dog saw the larger dog have no problem bounding into the back yard, so he followed – and disappeared in a snowbank! He practically had to swim through the snow to get back to me.
Here.
