Well, it seems that there is a movement afoot to put a question on the Ottawa municipal election ballot:
Do you support the City of Ottawa spending five million dollars a year to end homelessness by 2014?
Know how much it’ll cost to put that question on the ballot? Seventy thousand dollars! Here’s a thought – why not take that seventy thousand, plus that five million a year, and do the following:
1. Expand inpatient psychiatric facilities
2. Expand addiction treatment facilities.
3. Build some affordable housing.
Nah, that’s too logical for the City of Ottawa.
